About Us
P&O Heritage exists to preserve and celebrate the maritime history and collections of P&O, one of the best-known shipping and ferry companies in the world.
With our collections of over 35,000 items, we are a vital cultural and business archive charting the innovations and developments of British shipping and global trade over two centuries.
Our owners, DP World, acquired P&O in 2006 and continue to take great pride in preserving and sharing this historic collection. Find out more at www.poheritage.com
Our Image collections
Images of ships, people and ports can all be found in our collections of posters, photographs, paintings, prints and drawings, postcards and printed ephemera.
Posters
Our collection of colourful posters celebrates the commercial art and skill of the poster designer from 1895 to the 1970s, when photographic posters became the norm.
Photographs
Our collection of over 15,000 photographs is a unique record of the company's ships and history, dating from the advent of commercial photography in the 1860s to the dawn of digital in 2000.
Paintings and Prints & Drawings
Our art collection spans the history of P&O from our foundation right up to the present day and includes commissioned works by both celebrated artists and lesser known painters.
Printed Ephemera & Postcards
Printed ephemera is the story of our every day. Brochures, leaflets, menus, tickets and postcards were all meant for a moment, but often treasured for a lifetime. Today our extensive collections, dating back to the 1850s, give us a colourful and graphic glimpse of our past.
P&O Prints is the official print shop for P&O Heritage. If you can’t find the image you are looking for, or wish to enquire about reproducing or licensing images in our prints collection, please contact us here .
